In her seventies, Auntie Siu faces another night of cruel threats and abuse from her son. Years of enduring such treatment finally push her to her breaking point. She decides to dispose of her old sofa, a relic of a life long past, and embarks on a solitary journey to the garbage dump. At midnight, she encounters Uncle Tang, a long-time neighbour she has known for over thirty years, on the street.
Together, they embark on a shared journey, pushing the heavy, worn-out sofa through the quiet streets of their city. Their path takes them past convenience stores, parks, underpasses and finally, to the dump. Along the way, they encounter a diverse cast of characters, objects, and the lonely beauty of their surroudings.
