Adapted from the one-act play "Men in the Bathhouse", the musical follows three men in the changing room of a Japanese hot spring. They engage in a heated debate about whether to intervene in their friend's life-altering decision. The story delves into the vulnerabilities of men and the detrimental effects of toxic masculinity. It also explores the complexities of twisted cultures, societal values, and the bullying problem in boys' schools.
Recognising the original play's potential, Actors' Family commissioned a musical adaptation. The company workshopped the piece through musical reading performances, developing eight original songs and incorporating simple choreography. Following each performance, a panel discussion was held to gather audience feedback and guide further development of the production.
